Kids and Family
- Wesley joined a basketball team! He's always hesitated about team/group activities, but he's finally shown interest enough in basketball that he pushed through his shyness and allowed us to sign him up.
- Audrey broke her arm riding a mechanical bull lol. She was actually super chill about it. She gets her sling off next week.
- We had a wonderful Thanksgiving in Texas—35 of us total. Canoeing, ziplining, ropes course. Exhausting and perfect.
Ministry and Work
- It's been a rollercoaster over the past few months. Our church has been struggling financially. We had to cut pastoral pay and end our evening/Downtown service. But the response from those both in and out of the congregation has been generous and encouraging. Some things suck. But it won't suck forever.
- Wrapped up my Revelation series and moved into Advent preaching. (Sermons here)
Reading and Watching
- Absolutely loving watching The Dragon Prince with the family. Great characters, plot, the villains have understandable motivations. Lots of LoTR references.
- Just started the new Taylor Swift docu-series The End of an Era.
- Read The Small and the Mighty by Sharon McMahon—great bits of history you've never heard before.
- Read Holy Hurt—really powerful, helpful read on spiritual trauma.
Shiny New Objects
- rOtring 800 mechanical pencil. 0.5mm, of course, because I'm not an animal.
