Acts 23:12-35

I don’t have much to say about this passage; it’s mostly some intrigue about a plot to kill Paul and how Paul is put under a ridiculous amount of protection to get him out of Jerusalem.

If you don’t know the end of this story, I’ll ruin it for you. Paul eventually appeals to Caesar (his right as a Roman citizen to stand court before the highest authority in the land). I kind of have a sneaking suspicion that this was Paul’s plan all along. Paul went to Jerusalem and got arrested on purpose just so he could stand trial before a bunch of imperial authorities and proclaim the gospel that Jesus is King (and Caesar is not).
