Rating System

This is an adaptation of both Steph Kepano’s rating scale and the Ticci Scale. Three stars is normal. Half a star is the floor.

  • ★★★★★ — Best, I Love You/Perfect, life-changing, go out of your way to seek this out
  • ★★★★½ — Excellent, must try, recommend without caveat
  • ★★★★ — Good Plus, worth repeating
  • ★★★½ — Good, don’t go out of your way, but enjoyable
  • ★★★ — Normal, works in a pinch
  • ★★½ — Meh, mild disappointment, wouldn’t choose it
  • ★★ — Inferior, don’t do this if you can
  • ★½ — Inferior Minus, actively avoid
  • ★ — Repulsive, walked out, put it down
  • ½ — Evil Nightmare, life-changing in a bad way

How to remember the tiers: three is “works in a pinch,” each half step up asks “would I repeat it?”, each half step down asks “would I avoid it?”, and the ends are life-changing either way.

Before September 2026 this was a 1–7 scale. If you find an old rating in a newsletter, convert it: 7→★★★★★, 6→★★★★, 5→★★★½, 4→★★★, 3→★½, 2→★, 1→½.
