Tonetta and I Have a Podcast

Yes, Another Podcast. But Hear Us Out.
Look, we know. Another podcast? Especially another one with a white guy? The world definitely doesn't need more of those.
But here's the thing: it's a white man (that's me) and a queer, Black, non-gender conforming woman (that's Tonetta). So we're at least mixing things up a little, right?
Plus, we're both pastors doing progressive Christian ministry. We love the Bible and theology and Jesus, and we want to talk about it in a way that actually makes sense.
We're 11 episodes into our podcast experiment called Loam. We're still finding our groove. Most episodes are topical—us trying to share whatever wisdom we've managed to scrape together. The fun challenge is that Tonetta and I want very different things from podcasts. I'm drawn to those meandering, multi-hour conversations where friends just riff. She prefers tight, focused episodes where experts actually know what they're talking about. We're somewhere in the middle, trying to figure out what happens when those preferences collide.
This latest episode is our first since Tonetta's sabbatical, and we dig into what it's like to do effective, progressive, Christian ministry in DC and America in this urgent moment.
